Initial Consultation
The initial session is 60 minutes and will involve a thorough discussion of your presenting condition as well as the signs, symptoms and behaviour of your pain. These initial components are essential as they give a very good idea of how the condition is affecting you and gives the therapist an opportunity to form an initial plan which will carry on into your physical examination. It is very important to know that the physical examination can lead to an increase in symptoms as the pain needs to be found and often slightly provoked in order to find out how it is likely to behave which is important to know in order to formulating a treatment plan.
